Plum Beautiful

I believe (don't recall for sure) that these pics came from Guns.ru.  I'm not a big "plastic" furniture fan, but I do dig plum.  If I had to go plastic I'd want these handguards for my side folder, and these mags!

On display at CIA headquarters in Langley, VA is what is reported to be Osama bin Laden’s AKMS, which was found next to his body after he was killed by Navy Seals during the famous midnight raid.  Aside from this AK belonging to Osama, it has some interesting stampings.  It has both the Izhmash stamp, and what appears to be a Chinese character.  That’s an interesting piece of history there.

SVD Celebrates its 50th anniversary of service in the Russian military forces.

I'm a bit late in posting this, but July 3, 2013 marked the 50 anniversary of the SVD being adopted by the Soviet Army.  There are rumors of these rifles possibly being imported once again to the U.S.  I'm not counting on it, but it sure would be a lot of fun to own and shoot one.  Some of the members of my favorite Russian AK based forum (Guns.ru) posted photos of these fine specimens below.

Saiga laminate folding buttstock

At one time Izmash made a prototype laminate AK-100 Series buttstock.  I would love to own it!  Until then, here are some pics of this work of art thanks to the guys at Guns.ru.  Enjoy!

Russian Type II AK-47

Here are some great pics of a Russian Type II AK-47 courtesy of Guns.ru.  The finish has been worn or stripped, revealing the raw wood furniture.  I would love to have a Type II AK-47.  I'll have to add it to my list of dream AK's.

1970 Tula AKM Build Range Session

I just received my 1970 Tula AKM build and wanted to take it out to the range to shoot it for the first time.  My friend Bill did an amazing job on this rifle.  This rifle is outstanding and so much fun to shoot.  It was sighted in when I got it so I was able to hit softball sized steel plates at 100 yards.  The original Soviet furniture on this rifle is what we base our "Russian Rust" finish on.  Check out this finish and more at our website.
